He Is Only 11, Dreams of Hamilton and Wicked, and His Voice Got the Whole AGT Room Standing

For D’Corey Johnson, the America’s Got Talent stage was not just any stage. The 11-year-old from Louisville, Kentucky, said he watches the show almost every single day 📺.

He knows exactly what he wants. Broadway, movies, and two dream roles in Hamilton and Wicked. When the judges asked if he thought he could win, he said yes without hesitating.

He even had a favourite judge ready. Simon, he explained, because he keeps it real, just like his mama. Simon smiled and thanked him.

Then he sang. In his grey suit and green bow tie, D’Corey delivered a performance far bigger than his age, with a voice full of power and soul 🎤. The audience was clapping and shouting long before the end.

The judges praised his distinctive voice and told him he would only get better and better. One promised him that things were going to be amazing for him.

The whole room gave him a standing ovation, and D’Corey could not hold back his tears. It was the kind of moment he had been watching on TV every day, and this time it was his ❤️.
