Eugene is a 37-year-old librarian, and he came to Britain’s Got Talent to share his passion for poetry. He knew the judges were not big fans of poems, but he believed he had the personality and charisma to win them over. When asked about girlfriends, he admitted he did not have one yet.
On stage, Piers pressed his buzzer almost as soon as Eugene mentioned poetry. Eugene kept going anyway and presented his ode to Britain’s Got Talent.
His poem was full of self-mocking jokes 🎶. He admitted he could not juggle, had no friendly pet and no friends at all, and joked that when he enters a crowded room, the girls just disappear. Line after line, the theater roared with laughter, and by the end the audience was on its feet.
Piers started with an apology for buzzing him, saying the poem was very well written and had made him laugh. He noted it was the first standing ovation for an act like this. Eugene left with three yeses and could not believe he had turned Piers around ❤️.
