Marty Brown walked onto the America’s Got Talent stage in a cowboy hat with his guitar, and told everyone he had come all the way from Kentucky to sing.
He said one of his favourite songwriters is Bob Dylan, and he had chosen a beautiful Dylan song that many people do not know he wrote. It is his wife’s favourite, and he sings it to her in the kitchen all the time.
Marty sat down and began to sing Make You Feel My Love. His warm, gentle voice filled the theatre, and the whole room went quiet 🎶.
When he finished, the judges asked his wife to come up on stage, because they had seen her crying. She said she was the proudest wife in the world.
Then she revealed the surprise. Marty had no idea he was coming. She called him in sick from work, put his guitar in the trunk, and only told him in the car that he was going to America’s Got Talent ❤️.
The judges loved it. One said you could hear a pin drop and called Marty a great undiscovered treasure, adding that he would be honoured to have him in his studio. He thanked Marty’s wife for having the sense to bring him.
Another judge said Marty had taught everyone not to judge a book by its cover. Then the votes came in, and it was yes after yes for the singer from the kitchen 🌟.
