Reigan Derry from Perth used to sing in the girl group Scarlett Belle, who were signed to Def Jam and released music in America. When the deal ended, she felt her music career was over.
She stayed quiet for three years. On The X Factor Australia in 2014 she came back as a solo artist and sang Adele’s “Someone Like You,” starting softly and letting her voice open up as the song grew. 🎶
The judges were impressed. One said it took incredible guts to stand up alone after being in a big group, and another said her range was extremely exciting. The yeses came one after another.
Reigan said people never got to hear her real voice in the group. On that stage, they finally did. ❤️
