Tamera Foster was 16 and still a student when she walked into The X Factor arena. She had never seen so many people in one place. Until then, she had only sung in school assemblies, and this was her first time performing on her own.
Her family was there to support her, including her grandma, who she calls her number one fan. Tamera said she was so nervous, and she chose one of the hardest songs there is, I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston 🎤.
At the start, her mind went blank and she forgot the words. The audience cheered her on, she took a moment, and then she started again. This time, her voice filled the arena, powerful and full of feeling.
One judge said it was by no means perfect, but that her potential was beyond belief. Louis said that in ten years he had never seen anyone with her potential, not even Leona Lewis or Alexandra Burke. Sharon joked that if she forgot her lyrics at bootcamp, she would smack her with a big stick, and Tamera got four yeses ⭐.
