Irina Dedyuk arrived at The X Factor full of confidence. She was 28, originally from Russia, and had flown all the way from Los Angeles for her audition. She said she was a full time singer who wanted to live and sleep on stage.
Backstage, she admitted that she had a plan. She was going to look straight into Simon’s eyes and sing her whole song to him. For her, failure was not an option 😄.
Then she launched into Simply the Best and gave the judges a full show, with big moves, big energy and plenty of drama. The audience loved every second.
Simon said there were some slight issues with the vocals, but that he loved her ambition. He called her a Russian tigress and said she reminded him of a James Bond villain, in a good way. Nicole said she liked the tigress in her too, and Irina walked off with four yeses 😍.
