Goldberg has been a frequent guest on The View since 2007, where she hosts and modifies the chat program. The team commemorated Goldberg’s 69th birthday on Wednesday’s broadcast (November 13) by showcasing the Oscar-winning actor through a range of activities and conversations. The Ghost actress made an appearance in one episode, standing behind a wheel of cheese that had her face on it.
“I’ve always wanted my face on cheese,” Haines said in jest. In a lighthearted reply, Goldberg alluded to her desire to eat sparingly. The audience gasped, laughed, and cheered as her co-host, taken aback by Goldberg’s sly comment, abruptly left the stage. Goldberg continued in a hilarious manner, “Never mind,” realizing the response. Italian excellence and tradition are exemplified by this 24-month-matured wheel of authentic Parmigiano Reggiano.
Haines kept her cool and offered Goldberg a brief embrace before going back on stage as the audience watched, perplexed by the incident. But Goldberg wasn’t finished yet. “And eat Whoopi Goldberg if you want a chance to win a wheel like this one!” she laughed before Haines could intervene. She joked, adding to the humor, “That’s right! No, and eat something!
Goldberg shocked a lot of fans earlier this year when she disclosed the whereabouts of her mother’s ashes. The TV anchor said in her memoir that she was playing in Sister Act the Musical during its West End run when she found out about her mother’s death.
In an interview on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Goldberg told an open and unusual account of bidding farewell to her mother, cautioning the audience, “No one should do this.” She revealed that Disneyland was the place she had chosen to disperse her mother’s ashes because it was a place she “liked.”
“It was also one of my favorites as a child when it debuted at the World’s Fair,” Goldberg said, describing how much she adored Small World. “Sometimes, on the Small World ride, I’d pretend to sneeze and scatter a little piece of her,” she continued, describing her distinct method.
As Goldberg related another incident, the amusing story went on: “We went on to the ‘Disneyland’ flowers, and I said, ‘Oh, look at that.'” “And that’s how I left a part of her there,” she added, smiling, mimicking another false sneeze.
