In the hopes that he would be eaten by wild creatures, his own children left the elderly man in the forest without food or water for the inheritance; nonetheless, everyone was surprised by what the wolf did 
Deep darkness fell over the forest. An old man sat at the base of an old oak tree on the damp ground. His eyes were filled with anguish, his hands shook from the cold, and his breathing was labored. He was brought here like a worthless thing by his own children.
The kids had been anticipating his demise for a while. They were meant to inherit the big house, the acreage, and the money. However, the elderly man survived. The kids made the decision to speed up the process, leaving him in a secluded forest without food or drink in the hopes that the authorities would dismiss it as an accident and that wild creatures would finish their work swiftly.
Fearful of every sound, the poor elderly guy sat leaning against a tree. The sound of wolves howling could be heard through the wind howling in the distance. He knew the end was in sight.
— God He folded his hands in prayer and asked, “Could it really be…?”
Just then a branch broke off. Then another. There were rustling noises coming. The elderly man attempted to stand up, but his body refused to cooperate. He peered into the shadows until a wolf sprang out of the bushes.
The animal entered the walkway gently. Its eyes gleamed and its fur glistened in the moonlight. The wolf approached and flashed its teeth.
The old man thought, “This is it.”
Anticipating the excruciating pain of the sharp fangs, he closed his eyes and started to pray out loud. But all of a sudden, something that he could not have predicted occurred 
The wolf refrained from attacking. As though addressing the elderly guy, it came nearly all the way, paused, and then bent its head and let out a low howl.
Unaware of what was happening, the man extended his hand, but the monster did not recoil. Instead, he was able to touch its thick coat.
The elderly man then recalled. He had discovered a young wolf in the forest that had fallen victim to a poacher’s trap many years before, when he was still very strong.
He was not scared at the time, and he had risked his life to rescue the animal by opening the horrible iron jaws. The wolf had fled without turning around. However, it seems to have remembered.
This lone forest predator now bowed to the man as though he were his rescuer. The wolf signaled to sit down by lowering itself even farther.
Almost without strength, the elderly man struggled to seize the animal’s strong neck. He was taken into the shadowy forest by the wolf that had risen. No one dared approach the couple, but the old man heard branches snap beneath its claws and the shadows of other animals darting around.
A few kilometers later, a light ahead marked the village. When people heard dogs barking, they rushed outside to witness the amazing sight of a giant wolf delicately placing an elderly man at their gate, weary but still alive.
The old man cried when he was at last safe and living with good folks. Realizing that the beast had been more human than his own children, not out of terror.
