When a young woman in plain clothes and shabby ballerina flats entered the workplace, the staff began making fun of her without knowing who she was 
A young woman with a rucksack on her shoulders, scuffed ballet flats, and a simple skirt and worn top walked into a big company’s main office.
She gently said, “May I speak with your general director, please?” as she paused at the reception counter.
We don’t have any cleaning vacancies, the receptionist said icily, casting her a scornful glance.
The girl whispered softly, “No.” — There’s another reason I’m here.
The staff behind her started to laugh and whisper.
A voice murmured, “What’s she doing here?”
— Take a look at her attire! Her grandmother must have given her that skirt.
The young lady remained silent. She stood composedly and bowed her head slightly, as though she hadn’t heard the offensive comments.
I apologize, but when will your director be able to see me? she repeated.
The receptionist remarked grimly, “I’ve already told him, he’ll come out himself.”
An older man in a pricey suit emerged as the elevator doors opened a moment later. To everyone’s astonishment, he saw the girl right away and grinned widely: — Oh, Anna! I’ve been anticipating your arrival.— Oh, Anna! I’ve been waiting for you.
There was silence in the workplace. The young woman they had just been making fun of caught everyone’s attention. When the staff discovered who she truly was, they were shocked 
The director turned to the crew and said, “Let me introduce you.” — Your new direct supervisor is Anna.
With a composed nod, Anna pulled a folder out of her rucksack and added with assurance: “Nice to meet you all.” I’ve previously looked over the business’s projects and noted areas that need improvement. We’ll go over every detail today.
Her voice was composed and professional, with no trace of conceit. Those who had previously laughed at her were now standing silent, their eyes downcast.
An embarrassing joke was attempted by one of the staff members:
— We just were unaware that you were
However, the director interrupted him with a severe expression.
“Anna,” he replied, “you have complete control over how the team is organized.” You have the authority to fire someone if they fail to live up to your standards.
Anna bowed and said, “Thank you.” However, I think everyone here should have an opportunity to demonstrate that they are capable of working for outcomes rather than just looks.
She looked at the people who had laughed the most.
— I hope we can all learn something from this day. And the start of something fresh.
After putting the first documents on the table and opening her folder, Anna replied calmly, “And now, gentlemen, let’s get to work.”
