When a visitor saw a wolf trapped in a trap and unable to get out, he chose to assist the poor animal, but the wolf then did something very unexpected 
It was a long, sorrowful cry that disturbed the forest’s calm. Though piercing and unnerving, the sound was not menacing; rather, it seemed like a call for assistance.
In the tourist’s shoes, any sane person would have fled in the opposite direction. However, the man stopped, listened, and, trusting his gut, started to move in the direction of the sound.
He pushed through dense branches for some minutes before spotting a gray figure among the trees. A wolf. There were red stains all around it, its paw was stuck in an old metal snare, and there was a mixture of panic and tiredness in its amber eyes.
The man realized right away that the creature had accidentally become trapped and was unable to escape. He was aware that a mistake could endanger his life. He might have given the impression that he was being attacked if he had approached too abruptly. However, the animal would perish from starvation and agony if he left.
He moved forward slowly, being cautious not to make eye contact with the wolf to avoid coming out as menacing. The wolf watched his every move and breathed softly without growling. After gently opening the trap and releasing the wolf’s paw, the man squatted down and took a few steps back.
The wolf recoiled, withdrew its paw, retreated a step, and then—something totally unexpected occurred
The wolf appeared to be going to vanish into the forest, but it abruptly came to a halt. Man and wild animal, thrown together by fate for a brief moment, simply stared at one another for a number of lengthy seconds.
The wolf’s eyes were filled with a profound, nearly human comprehension rather than rage.
As if to say “thank you,” it then raised its head toward the sky while standing on three legs and gave a brief, sharp howl. Its voice echoed over the trees before fading off in the distance.
The wolf gradually disappeared into the morning mist, leaving just its footprints on the ground and an odd sense that something more significant than a mere meeting had occurred.
The man was immobile and stood there for a long time. He was aware that he had just seen a unique, nearly hallowed, instance of nature and man working together.
