When the authorities attempted to remove the elderly woman and her small bear from the public area after they had entered a store to buy groceries, the bear did something totally out of the ordinary
The woman thought her life was ended when her spouse passed away. She had no one to get up for in the morning, no one left to live for. She lived in a modest home on the outskirts of the hamlet, by herself and in peace.
She saw something black moving by the door one morning when she stepped out onto the porch. As she got closer, she noticed a tiny bear cub that was emaciated, filthy, and had a paw injury. It trembled with fear and cold, whimpering faintly.
The woman was unable to just pass by. She whispered, “Don’t be afraid, everything will be all right now,” as she carried the small creature into her arms and held it close.
By feeding it from a bowl, covering it with a blanket, and conversing with it like a human, the grandma helped it recover.
The years went by. The young cub developed into a big brown bear.
The tiny bear lived in the house, listened to his mistress, ate porridge and honey, slept on an old rug by the hearth, and never did anything wrong.
The woman took him practically everywhere; he was content outside but she couldn’t leave him alone at home because he got bored. The odd duo had long since been accustomed to the townspeople.
The woman made the decision to take her small bear to the grocery store one morning in order to get some food. Customers and staff fled to the corners in terror as soon as they were inside, and the security officers dared not get near.
While the small bear cautiously walked alongside her without tipping over a single can, the grandmother calmly picked up a shopping cart and proceeded down the aisles as if nothing had occurred.
The woman was merely shopping with her cat on a typical day, but to everyone else, the scene appeared to be from a movie. When one of the patrons could stand it no longer, he contacted the police.
An cop came into the store a few minutes later. He replied, “Ma’am, you’re disturbing public order,” as he slowly approached. Bringing wild animals into the store is prohibited.
She gently said, “My little bear is a pet.” He doesn’t destroy the cookie shelves and behaves better than most patrons.
— I get it, ma’am, but regulations are regulations. Here, animals are not permitted.
She said, “But he’s not an animal.” To me, he resembles a son. A little bit furrier.
Standing across from her, the officer made an effort to talk strongly but quietly. The small bear, who had sharp eyes, was sitting peacefully on the floor and keeping a careful eye on his owner in the meantime.
He took out his handcuffs and stated, “Ma’am, I’ll have to arrest you if you don’t leave the premises.”
Suddenly, the woman said, “Don’t touch me!” I haven’t taken any action!
The officer moved closer to place her in handcuffs, but just then the small bear did something utterly unexpected, frightening everyone in the area
The small bear, who had been peacefully resting at his owner’s feet, tightened up all of a sudden. His eyes sparkled, his breathing became labored, and he stood up on his hind legs.
“Easy, little bear,” the mother muttered.
However, it was too late. With a harsh growl, the small bear swung his paw and struck the officer once, sending him to the ground. The handcuffs clattered over the tiles as they flew from his hand.
While some customers fled outside and others yelled, the woman stood motionless with her palms pressed to her face.
— Small bear “What did you do?” she muttered.
Other officers showed up a few minutes later. Despite the old woman’s fervent requests, the small bear was drugged and removed. She sobbed while clinging to the officers’ arms and saying repeatedly:
Don’t take him, please! All he wanted was to keep me safe! Do you realize that to me he is like a son? Like a son!
However, nobody paid attention.
