The pediatrician looked at me horrified during a check-up and inquired as to who I typically left my child with: My spouse suggested that I put cameras in the house after I told him it was with him
Recently, my young daughter has undergone significant shift. She used to be happy and smile, but these days she cries all the time.
She jumped at every sound, refused to eat, and woke up screaming at night. I assumed it was only a phase or teething; after all, that’s common for kids.
But it grew worse every day. When I took her up, she clutched to my hair as if she were scared I would vanish because she didn’t want to be alone for even a minute.
I decided to take her to the pediatrician in a panic.
The doctor listened to her heart and respiration, checked her reflexes, and gave her a thorough examination. Abruptly, he scowled, set down the stethoscope, and turned to face me.
Unexpectedly, he questioned, “Who do you leave your daughter with when you’re not at home?”
– With my spouse. Occasionally— I replied, not comprehending his question.
With a heavy sigh, the doctor said, almost whispering:
Put cameras in your home, he advised. And don’t tell your hubby, please.
Despite being appalled by the doctor’s remarks, I took his counsel. I was shocked by what I saw on the recordings
Please pardon me if I’m mistaken. However, it’s evident from the child’s actions that she is terrified. The doctor said that she was not only nervous about someone close to her, but also extremely afraid of them.
I went cold. My throat began to pound with my heart.
He reiterated, “Install cameras in your home.” And don’t tell your hubby, please.
It was unbelievable to me that he stated that. I believed that my spouse was a loving parent who supported me in every way and adored our daughter.
I did, however, heed his advice. The cameras were covertly placed in the kitchen, living room, and nursery. I saw the video the following day.
And my legs went out under me when I realized what had transpired during my absence.
Sitting in her playpen, my daughter was sobbing quietly. My spouse approached her and bent down to speak to her. and all of a sudden there was yelling, irate speech, and physical motions.
As though accusing her of something, he took her by the arm and shook her. Then, as though nothing had happened, he got himself some coffee and switched on the TV while the youngster sobbed in confusion and fear.
I couldn’t stand to see the others.
The following day, my daughter and I departed with just one toy and our paperwork.
I sent a brief message to the doctor:
“I’m grateful. We were saved by you.
