A granny is ejected from a high-end store by a salesperson. However, a police officer teaches her a surprising lesson.
Marie had always been a self-sufficient individual. She had a modest life in Lyon even after retiring from her work as a librarian, but her granddaughter Léa, who was ready to graduate from high school, brought her the most happiness.
Marie was heartbroken when Léa said that she didn’t want to go to the prom.

Marie was well-dressed and rode the bus to the big mall the following day. She walked inside a store filled with dozens of evening dresses. A condescending salesperson came up as soon as she entered the room:

The following day, Marie opens a high-end storefront while sporting her meticulously pressed purple blouse. She’s looking for the ideal dress. However, Claire, the salesperson, treats her with contempt as soon as she walks in. A barely concealed charge of stealing intent follows sighs, degrading comments, and painful hints. Marie leaves the store, devastated and ashamed.
Tears cloud her eyesight as she walks down the street, and her purse falls out of her grasp. A young police cadet comes over at that point. She is helped up by Lucas Dubois. He decides to go with her right away after hearing her story.
“We will not depart without that dress,” he asserts resolutely.
They head back to the boutique together. The manager quickly steps in when the salesperson abruptly alters her tone upon seeing his uniform. Lucas reports discriminatory behavior while Marie chooses a lovely purple outfit. He then offers to split the expense in a straightforward yet kind gesture. With the promise of an unforgettable prom, they leave the store together, beneath the sun, having each paid half of the cost of the dress.
Léa sees the outfit the night of the prom. She is so moved that she recognizes her grandmother’s sacrifice right away. “Grandma, it’s perfect,” she murmurs, her eyes shining.
Then, bright and light, she dances around the floor like a contemporary fairy tale. Lucas is also in the hall, a bit farther away, having been invited by Marie to join in their family’s celebration. Gently, silently, the circle is finished.
