This is the lesson I learned my mother-in-law when she and her pals consumed our $1000 wedding cake just before the wedding.
For months, I had been organizing our wedding; every little item was important, and everything was meant to happen according to my plan. All I had to do was pick up the cake since I had discovered the outfit of my dreams.
I was summoned to pick up the cake the day before the wedding. However, I requested my fiancé to collect it and deliver it to their place because I was too busy making last-minute arrangements.
I went to get the cake that night. “It’s open, come in, we’re in the kitchen,” my mother-in-law yelled when I knocked on the door.
I heard multiple conversations as soon as I entered. Her pals were all around her. “You know, this cake wasn’t even good,” she commented upon seeing me.
I became aware that they were consuming our $1000 wedding cake at that very moment. They were eating that cake shamelessly, even though I had been saving for it for months.
It was a huge shock. It was about respect, not simply about a cake. She didn’t care about what I valued on this particular day. That’s when I realized I had to stop this all.
This is what I did.
After reading my experience, share your thoughts in the comments section. What would you have done in my position, and do you believe she had the right to do this?
Fortunately, my best friend showed up right away.
“Don’t worry, we’ll find a solution,” she promised me after learning about the circumstance.
We created a cake that was even more exquisite than the first one with her assistance.
The cake was prepared on the wedding day, and I gave my mother-in-law a small surprise.
I showed a video of her and her pals consuming the first cake before I sliced the cake.
She looked embarrassed and her cheeks flushed scarlet as the room fell silent.
The audience erupted in laughter, and I at last felt calm.
