A young girl called the police in the middle of the night to report that her parents had been trapped in a room for a long time and that they were not making any noise. The police were appalled when they came and learned the cause.
The night officer sat at the station beneath the faint light of an ancient monitor. Boredness started to weigh heavily as the night went by without a single call. The phone rang abruptly. — “Police, speaking,” was his immediate response.

The girl muttered, “They—they are in the room.”
— “Can you hand your mother or father the phone?”

The cop’s heart fell.
— “Explain what transpired. Calls to the police are not made arbitrarily.
— “It’s crucial, parents. they aren’t moving,” the girl said through tears, — “they’ve been trapped in the room for a long time.”
The seriousness of the issue was instantly apparent to the officer.
He instructed her to remain in the room and asked for the address. A patrol cruiser pulled up to a two-story residence on the city’s outskirts ten minutes later.
“They’re there,” the girl said, pointing to the bedroom after opening the door herself.
The police stopped dead in their tracks when they learned that everything was worse than they had thought.
Anticipating something incomprehensible, the officers cautiously made their way into the bedroom. The silence seemed almost real, and the walls were covered with long shadows from the night light.
One of the officers’ hearts stopped in terror as the parents lay still on the ground. Time appeared to have halted.
The girl was standing next to them, her hands clinched, her breath coming in short gasps. Her parents didn’t react when she tried to explain that she had attempted to wake them.
The cops were instantly frightened by the powerful odor that permeated the room, which was a combination of perfume and some chemical substance.
The mother’s respiration was weak but there when one of the cops carefully walked up to her and checked her pulse. Thankfully, both parents were still alive despite being unconscious.
When they told her that her parents were fine, the girl started crying with relief.
The parents were brought to the hospital right away when an ambulance came a little while later.
The cops remained in the house, attempting to figure out how the young girl had called for assistance in time.
Everyone concerned will never forget that night since the seven-year-old girl’s soft voice saved her parents’ lives and a tragedy could only have been avoided because the police arrived in time.
