An elementary school teacher noticed that one of her students, after class, buried her books and notebooks under a tree: the teacher was shocked when she found out why the girl was doing this

After class, an elementary school teacher discovered that one of her students had hidden her books and notebooks beneath a tree. The instructor was horrified to learn the reason behind the girl’s behavior 😱🤔

One girl in particular stood out in the class; she was quiet, reserved, and extremely smart. She read as though she absorbed every word with her heart, solved problems faster than anybody else, and knew the solutions to the most difficult queries. However, she remained to herself and had no friends. Since everyone knew she was from a low-income household, her classmates shunned her and teased her.

Although she felt sad for her, the teacher was even more concerned about something else. The girl didn’t rush home from school every day.

She spent a lot of time writing in her notebooks, solving puzzles, and reading her books in the yard behind the school while sitting beneath an old tree. She then did something that one day astounded the teacher: she dug a little hole and filled it with dirt, hiding her books and notebooks.

This kept happening, day after day. Eventually, the teacher approached the girl because she could take it no more.

“What are you doing?” she inquired softly.

The girl answered softly, froze, and pressed her notebooks to her chest. Her response astounded the teacher.

Papa can’t possibly see them. He won’t let me study.

The teacher was rocked to her core by the confession that followed. According to the father, a woman should only be capable of cooking, cleaning, and washing.

He opposed education, believed that girls were only destroyed by knowledge, and predicted that they would marry when they were eighteen.

When he saw his daughter working on her homework one day, he grabbed all of her notebooks, destroyed her books, and put them in the fire. The father persisted despite the girl’s tears and pleas for him to keep the one thing that made her happy.

In order to keep her father from discovering them at home, she had since concealed her books beneath the tree. She completed her homework while sitting on the chilly ground, buried them once more, and came back as like she had nothing.

Hardly believing it, the teacher listened. A child stood in front of her, defending their right to education and guarding information like a valuable secret.

Her eyes were filled with tears, and she became determined that she would not let this girl lose her future.
