Early in the morning, a fisherman discovered an ancient metal coffin on the shore. He was shocked by what he saw when he opened the lid 
As usual, the fisherman was up early. The air was wet and cold, the surf whispered steadily, promising a good catch, and twilight still hovered over the sea. After preparing his belongings and inspecting the boat, he was ready to set sail when he noticed an odd object on the rocky shore.
He initially believed it to be a big box or a deserted container that the waves had carried up. But a weird unease crept in his chest the closer he went. A coffin was in front of him. It was old and metallic, covered in seaweed and rust, as though it had been drifting across the water for a long time before coming to rest there.
The fisherman looked around in bewilderment and muttered, “My God.” The beach was deserted. His discovery was accompanied only by the sound of the waves and the gulls’ cry.
His first instinct was to call the police right away and avoid touching it. Curiosity, however, won out. The man examined the coffin while carefully crouching near to it.
A little, already corroded lock sat on the lid. It only took one firm tug to come off.
The fisherman had a racing heart. He cautiously raised the heavy lid, and he froze when he saw what was within.
Human remains were found within. Bones, pieces of once-clothes, and metal pieces that have been tarnished by time and water.
The man flinched in surprise, covering his lips with his palm out of instinct. Unable to believe what he was seeing, he stood there for a few seconds.
When specialists finally showed up, they concluded that the coffin was nearly a century old. It had probably ended up in the ocean following an earlier shipwreck. It washed up here after being pushed across the waves by storms and currents for decades.
The word quickly got across the neighborhood. The mystery of the sea and the destiny of the dead were discussed in whispers. That day turned out to be the most peculiar of the fisherman’s life.
It was as though the water itself had chosen to divulge to him a long-kept secret that had been concealed throughout the ages.
