The kitchen was in terrible shape at first. We had to replace all of the appliances, the flooring, and numerous other minor repairs even though some restoration work had already begun.
The bathroom wall was still attached when we shot this photo. The kitchen was in awful shape, with Soviet-style tiles, metal dishracks, and an unusable sink. The improvements had obviously been carried out during the Soviet era.
Furniture and materials were renowned for their durability and strength at the time. It’s amazing that such equipment is still in use today. The space is about 4.5 m², which is a very modest area. But we were able to fit a refrigerator, a dishwasher, and a stove. These appliances were arranged with care to make the most of the available space.
We were able to transform this small kitchen into a useful and efficient area where any housewife would enjoy cooking. Undoubtedly, some aspects, like the refrigerator’s overabundance of magnets or the silver tape used to demarcate the area, should be improved, but these little flaws do not lessen the end product’s impact or coherence.
