In Toowoomba, Queensland, raising sixteen kids is a full-time undertaking. The Bonells still have eight of them living at home, and they spend about $600 a week on groceries. They consume an amazing 14 boxes of cereal, 50 liters of milk, and dozens of eggs. It takes several helping hands and at least two carts to go grocery shopping.

In order to balance their hectic schedules of sports, part-time jobs, school schedules, and housework, Jeni and Ray must be well-organized. Each youngster is assigned a recurring task, such cleaning or meal preparation, starting around age eight. Even their 12-year-old son can cook dinner for twenty people.

Every evening, between eight and twenty people gather for dinner, which is a true family custom. On her YouTube channel, Jeni frequently offers advice on how to maximize food shopping and cook on a budget. She claims that although “everyone feels the pressure on the budget,” effective organization may make a huge difference.

The Bonells rely on their faith, sense of humor, and strong sense of teamwork in spite of the difficulties. Their big family size occasionally draws criticism, but Jeni and Ray firmly believe in their way of life. Ray acknowledges that it’s not for everyone, but for us, it’s ideal.

They continue to grin and show a lot of love while navigating the lovely chaos of family life as grandparents. The Bonells believe that love, humor, and perfect organization are the keys to a happy large family.
