Bindi Irwin issues statement after undergoing emergency surgery

Following an emergency appendectomy on Saturday, Bindi Irwin sent fans a timely update.

Arriving in the United States over the weekend for the annual Steve Irwin Gala, the 26-year-old naturalist is the daughter of the renowned Steve Irwin. However, she experienced an appendix burst just hours after landing in Las Vegas, necessitating emergency surgery.

Bindi, who has a sizable fan base on her own, posted a video from her hospital bed on Instagram yesterday. She thanked doctors for their efforts and claimed to be the “road to recovery” in the video.

Doctors reportedly found 14 more endometriosis lesions during the removal of her appendix, a condition Bindi is known to have. Additionally, a hernia that had formed following the birth of her daughter Grace in 2021 was completely treated, and those were successfully removed.

“I am really grateful that I was able to get the assistance I required from Drs. Seckin and Chu at Lenox Hill Hospital. “On the day of our Steve Irwin Gala, I finally had to seek help after many months of a grumbly appendix,” she captioned her Instagram photo.

“After speaking with Dr. Seckin, we decided that he could perform another endometriosis test if I traveled to New York. The surgery went well.

After having 37 endometriosis lesions and a cyst removed two years prior, my appendix was removed along with an additional 14 lesions. Additionally, four years ago, I had a major hernia from delivery repaired.

Bindi also gave her brother Robert a lot of credit for organizing the Steve Irwin Gala.

And don’t worry, I’ll see you in November at the next Steve Irwin Gala in Brisbane. One day at a time. Now is the time to recover. I’m sending you all my love,” she said in closing.

Over the weekend, Robert Irwin informed People Magazine that his sister was recovering nicely from her operation.

The 21-year-old clarified, “She’s going to be fine, but surgery was not one of the things we were prepared for.”

She was prepared to put up a brave front when she arrived in Las Vegas. “I’m just going to tough it out,” she declared.

However, the surgeon informed her that her appendix was disappearing. It must be released.

Bindi’s health concerns are well known; for more than ten years, the conservationist has struggled with unidentified illnesses.

In an open declaration last year, she claimed, “Behind closed doors, I was struggling to do anything and everything.”

People must have assumed that I was simply really erratic since I was becoming so ill. I would actually simply throw up when I tried to get up. I was constantly in excruciating discomfort.

She was eventually diagnosed with endometriosis after more than a decade of being undetected. After that, she had the opportunity to have surgery in the US.

“Endometriosis is a huge issue for a lot of people, and not enough people talk about it. Doctors didn’t know enough, so I went ten years without a diagnosis,” she added.

We are giving Bindi Irwin our love and best wishes!
