Following the death of Austin Metcalf, a 17-year-old student from Texas, who was stabbed during a track and field competition, condolences are flooding in.
Tragically, on Wednesday, April 2, Frisco Police and Fire were called to an incident at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas, located in the 6900 block of Stadium Lane.
Authorities were notified of “an altercation between two students” that “resulted in one of them stabbing the other,” as has now been revealed. Austin, 17, was the casualty; he and his twin brother were there at the track and field competition.
Social media users paid tribute to the teen as soon as word of the tragic tragedy spread, and family members discussed the “senseless” act.
In light of his passing, Austin’s March 31 last post on X has taken on a special poignancy.
The kid stated, “Have faith that God has me and that my efforts will be rewarded.”

Condolences were quickly sent by other X users. “What a precious heart,” one wrote. Too soon he was gone from this world. I know God has him now, even though we might not comprehend the timing.
“Praying for strength and courage for the family and friends during this extremely difficult time,” another person commented.
The New York Post reports that on April 2, Austin got into a fight with Karmelo Anthony, a 17-year-old competitor, during the track and field competition. Prior to the day of the incident, the two had never met.
According to reports, Austin told Anthony, who goes to another school, to get out of the tent at Frisco Memorial High School after he was sitting there in the stands.

“And my brother stepped in and said, ‘You need to move,'” Austin’s twin brother Hunter, who was also present, told WFAA. And he says, “Move me now.”
Then, allegedly, Anthony reached inside his rucksack and produced a knife. Then he stabbed Austin in the chest.
Hunter tragically disclosed how, while he waited for emergency personnel to come, he tried to halt the bleeding by holding his brother in his arms.
Then, when Austin was put on a gurney, he contacted the twins’ parents.
We hurried to the hospital after I had to locate his brother because I was so alarmed by the amount of blood and the location of the wound. We prayed, and although I don’t understand God’s purpose, they were unable to save him. Jeff Metcalf, the father of Austin and Hunter, told NBC Dallas-Fort Worth, “This is murder.”
He was a man’s leader. The room would be illuminated by his smile. After the incident, Jeff posted on GoFundMe, saying, “His love for football was incredible.”
Following his arrest, Karmelo Anthony was accused of first-degree murder in connection with the stabbing. On a $1 million bond, he is still being held at Collin County Jail.
Meanwhile, Anthony’s father said he wasn’t the aggressor and called his son a “good kid.”
Andrew Anthony told the New York Post, “Everyone has already made their assumptions about my son, but he’s not what they’re making him out to be.”
“He wasn’t the one who attacked. It wasn’t him who initiated it.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Austin Metcalf’s family. Peace be with you.
