A village is in sorrow after the untimely death of an 18-year-old high school student who fell during her graduation ceremony. In April, 18-year-old Sienna Stewart, who received a transplant eleven years ago, was tragically diagnosed with heart failure.
Sienna has had severe cardiomyopathy since she was four years old, and she began “getting sick” early this year. After the aforementioned transplant, she reportedly led a “relatively normal life for 10 years,” but after that, she started “getting weak and slowing down.” Mother Saevon Chum revealed that her daughter would sometimes faint; on Thursday, May 23, 2024, she did so while graduating.

A video provided by Hiram High School shows the principle shouting, “Please give us a second, we have a student, just give us a second.” When Saevon arrived, she discovered paramedics caring for her daughter.
“The ambulance was already there when I got there,” the mother remembered. She had fainted. She had gone through another ordeal. She fainted for the first time, though.
After a few minutes, Sienna regained consciousness and decided to attend her ceremony instead of going to the hospital. “I just want to walk and graduate,” was all she could say to me. Saevon claimed it was all she wanted because she had already missed her prom because of her hospital stay. Unfortunately, Sienna died on June 12, just a few weeks after receiving her diploma.
As a mother, you are quite proud of her for having persevered through a difficult situation. You must feel proud. I was proud all the way through,” Saevon remarked.
In the fall, Sienna was scheduled to study ultrasound technology in college, according to her obituary.
