Wait Until You See Inside This Man’s Airplane-Based Home
Bruce Campbell, a 64-year-old former electrical engineer, has always been creative. He had a distinct idea when he spent $23,000 in his early twenties on ten forested acres close to Hillsboro, Oregon. Using an old airplane and the vast amount of land he owned, he set out to construct an incredible palace for himself.

The Boeing 727
For an incredible $100,000 in 1999, Campbell bought a Boeing 727 from Olympic Airways. The enormous airplane had to be transported all the way from Athens, Greece, in order to reach Oregon. When transport costs were taken into account, the total cost of moving the plane to his land came to about $220,000. Campbell thought the money was well spent, even though it was expensive.

Interior Design
Campbell stored a few necessities inside the aircraft. He added a basin and washing machine for convenience, but kept the plane’s original restroom and several of the seats. He has all he needs for daily living in this straightforward yet practical setting.
A Simple Way of Life
Campbell doesn’t spend much time in his unusual house, despite the Boeing 727’s ample capacity. Cereal and tinned food make up the majority of his meals, and his kitchen is equipped with a microwave and a toaster. Despite leading a humble lifestyle, he manages to make things work in his unique home.

An Outstanding Accomplishment
We can’t help but respect Campbell’s accomplishment, even though living in an airplane home may not be for everyone. It’s really amazing how creative and determined he was to transform an old airplane into a house.
