Recently, Lucy Welcher, a social media celebrity with nearly 20 million likes, shared a video that went viral.
Videos showing the young blonde sitting in her car, sipping iced coffee, or bragging about a purchase from one of her favorite places are common. She acknowledges that she is “the worst type of person…who cannot handle getting their own way.”
The now-20-year-old posted a TikTok video on November 8, 2022, with the message, “Not my thing [laughing emoji] #working #scam.”
“I don’t want to spend the rest of my life working. Does it seem like I want to spend the next sixty years waking up at six in the morning? No! She said, “I’m too pretty for that!” in the nine-second video.
Comments from viewers were swift, with many criticizing the content creator for being “lazy” and “entitled.”
“Boy, I wish I had your self-assurance so I could think I’m more attractive than I really am. One TikToker writes, “God, you people are so shallow and in love with yourselves.”
Another said, “Someone is entitled.” “You need to be humbled, daughter, so I hope you do. It’s unfortunate that you have that mindset because appearances have no bearing on your ability to work.
“How about trying to be an adult instead of a privileged princess expecting life to be handed to you?” a third cybernaut retorted.
“Slandered”
Welcher deleted the contentious video in response to user comments, claiming that many did not view it as “a joke.” She also made a new post explaining that she is being “slandered all over social media for that video I posted.”
The TikTok celebrity, full of irony, goes on to edit and correct certain internet stories in which she denies having “class vehicles” or making $100,000 USD year. The assertion that she lives in a mansion “is hilarious…because my house is literally falling apart,” according to Welcher, who also discloses that she is Canadian.
“Remake”
A few days later, on November 14, Welcher, who enjoyed the attention, posted a new video in which she can be seen drinking her iced coffee once more.
Welcher reenacts the screenplay from her deleted “I’m too pretty” video, captioned, “Remake of the most hated video I’ve ever made.”
Most internet people supported her this time, seeing that her previous post was meant to be humorous.
One person comments, “You’re absolutely right, getting up early to go to work will ruin your good looks.”
“This video and the first one gave me life,” writes a second.
“You are too pretty for that,” writes another, who is an advocate for attractive people. These are simply the harsh realities of life.
