Jamie Lee Curtis overwhelmed with grief makes the heart-wrenching announcement

Regarding her close friend and Curb Your Enthusiasm star Richard Lewis, who died unexpectedly on Tuesday at the age of 76 after suffering a heart attack, Jamie Lee Curtis made some extremely hurtful remarks.

The comedian and the 65-year-old actress, who portrayed the witch in Halloween, costarred on the comedy Anything But Love for four seasons from 1989 to 1992.

After learning of the tragic news of the actor’s passing, she shared something on her personal Instagram page on Wednesday. It was Bette Midler who broke the news initially.

In a lengthy statement, Curtis included a number of old photos of the two of them and thanked the late musician for being “the reason I am sober.”

Prior to celebrating his 25th sober anniversary this month, Jamie battled an opiate addiction.

“My friend Richard Lewis passed away recently,” I said. I can still clearly recall being on Sunset Boulevard, standing in front of a sign advertising a stand-up show that included him. I pushed the casting team to encourage him to try out for the part of Marty Gold, my best friend and future lover, during the ABC pilot Anything But Love casting process.

“He looked good to me.” I chuckled at something, even though it’s not precisely something a strong woman can do for herself. I laughed aloud when he mispronounced the word “bundt cake,” but he still acted the part.

Jamie remarked, “He blew everyone else away.” They mentioned in their response that “the chemistry with Richard was so great,” despite the fact that they finally decided not to accept the pilot for the love triangle drama. Should the original pilot be revised? We ultimately produced the show in this manner for two years.

Even though he detested performing in front of live audiences, he was a stand-up comedian. However, I thought it was great.

Even in close-up, he would conceal his marks on objects, door frames, and my face. He also usually had his lines scribbled on a clipboard he brought with him. It turns out that he was a very good character actor. It’s humorous and enlightening.

“We grieved together for the loss of our friend and co-star Richard Frank and our friend and producer John Ritter,” she said.

The actress told her fans, “In his last text message to me, Richard said he wanted me to get another boxed set of show episodes from ABC/Disney.”

“He is also the reason I am sober,” Jamie continued. I was able to use him. I shall always be appreciative of his kindness.

She stated, “He found love with Joyce, and that, of course, along with being sober, was what mattered most to him,” in reference to his wife Joyce Lapinsky. As I write this, tears well up in my eyes.

It’s an odd way to express gratitude to a kind and humorous man. Richard, I hope you continue to laugh till the day you die. Hannah exclaimed, “My Marty, I love you!” at the conclusion.

In a later tweet, Jamie expressed her grief over the passing of her longtime friend and former co-star.

She also tweeted a few lines from the Anything But Love theme tune and another old photo of herself with Lewis.

“The renowned singer-songwriter JD Souther wrote this beautiful theme song for the third and final season of the TV show ANYTHING BUT LOVE, which ran on ABC for a few years,” Curtis said.

Check it out on YouTube and give it a listen. If not, you may listen to a recording of it right here. I’m presenting these to my friend Richard Lewis today.

“We would still be fighting not to collapse and looking for the next great thing,” she revealed the lyrics. The world would go on without us, as though we had never met.

“Thunder-pounding hearts will settle for anything but love.”Everything, excluding love, would be sufficient for everyone but you.

Curb Your Enthusiasm co-star Larry David was one of the social media users and celebrities who paid tribute to the late Richard Lewis.

He told HBO, “He’s been like a brother to me for the majority of my life.” “I was born in the same hospital as Richard, three days apart.”

It’s not often that a man can be both funny and kind at the same time. In an interview with Variety, the comic said, “But today he made me cry, and I’ll never forgive him for that.”

“I had the biggest crush on Richard Lewis when I was younger,” recalled Cheryl Hines, who costarred with Lewis on the popular sitcom.

“He was the most attractive or adorable person on stage.” It was a dream come true for me to collaborate with him on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

“As time went on, I discovered more about Richard’s skills.” In addition to being one of the loveliest individuals I’ve ever met, he was hilarious, which is why I fell in love with him.

“He would take the time to tell the people he loved how much they meant to him, especially in the last few years,” Cheryl recalled. During the breaks between takes on Curb, he expressed his love and importance for me.

“To have Richard Lewis love you” is a true blessing. You are fantastic, Richard. You will be missed. I adore you, Joyce, and Richard’s entire family. I loved you, Richard and Lawrence. But you know well enough that.
