It is horrifying the kind of brutality certain people may have toward animals. Recently, duct tape wrapping this unfortunate puppy’s entire head was found.
Even with the awful sight, the narrative has a happy ending:
The shocking story was made public on April 15 by Nebraska Humane Society. Someone was shocked to find out it was a dog and not, say, a raccoon when she called Animal Control to report hearing an animal inside a dumpster.
The dog was in incredible shape; his head and tail were totally covered in duct tape, and his legs were bound together. It was also stated that “food and other debris caked in his fur.”
Responding to KETV, staff member Kevin Wiederin said, “I have never seen anything like it.” “The entire muzzle, as well as the front and rear paws, were taped together. It was just sitting there, with tape covering its eyes as well.”
I felt completely repulsed. “It was the ugliest thing I’ve ever seen,” he added. “It is unimaginable to injure any living thing, much less a defenseless small dog, and then discard it like garbage.”
It’s a surprise he was discovered in time; thirty minutes after Animal Control received the report, a truck showed up and took the bin out, according to NHS.
The puppy was sent to the Nebraska Humane Society. The staff administered a sedative to him before beginning to cut the tape. They had to shave his fur in order to remove all the dirt.
The dog had a little skin irritation, but despite this, they posted on Facebook that he “perked up and was wagging his tail” and was “otherwise healthy and seemed to be in good spirits despite his condition.”
Fortunately, the crew found a microchip once the tape was taken off. Leo, the dog’s name, was informed that he had disappeared a few days prior.
Leo’s owner, Erin Dillon-Pasillas, says the dog escaped the house when she was dropping her son off at school. Days after missing her cat, she called animal shelters in a panic.
“Every day got harder and harder… She told KETV it was nothing but crickets. “I was shaking as I called them. “Please be my dog,” you say to yourself, you know.
