Some people are just born with a business sense. Together with persistence, taking calculated risks, and a willingness to challenge oneself to make greater use of one’s abilities, these qualities make up the winning mix.
Seth, an 11-year-old Utahn boy, has already launched a business, and many are in awe of his current marketing strategy.
Ultimately, he made the decision to give something other than lemonade, so he stepped toward the sidewalk and held a sign that said, “Ice Cold Beer.”
While some neighbors found this endearing and commended the young man for starting a company, others were concerned that he was selling alcohol and phoned the police.
When several cops did eventually show up at Seth’s booth, they had a great time rather than chastise him.
It came to light that the young business owner was offering root beer, but instead of writing the word “beer,” it said “root” in tiny green letters.
The Brigham City Police Department thought Seth’s poster sign was a great way to market his company. To be honest, not all kids are able to pull off something like that.
People were compelled to remark after the news surfaced online.
The department disagreed with the statement made by others that the person who reported the young man to the police should be ashamed of themselves. “Our citizens should never feel ashamed or embarrassed to call us,” they retorted. They were reporting what they perceived to be an unusual situation. No damage, no foul play.
The police even paid $1 for some root beer and used Seth’s endearing anecdote to promote his company.
