Katy Perry shared the sad news of one of her managers’ passing on social media.
The 39-year-old singer honored Martin Kirkup on Thursday by sharing some of her own pictures with him.
Martin passed away at 76 years old.
Despite his dislike of social media, the Dark Horse singer claimed she had to write about Martin because he was so unique.
“It took me some time to write this post.Everything feels final after it’s posted, for some reason. On Instagram, Katy posted a message. Furthermore, even though Martin disliked social media and the news it brings, I can’t help but express how essential he was and continues to be in my life.
I say this because I don’t believe in “death.””I believe they simply transition to the next realm,” she remarked. They used to be here, but now they are everywhere.
For nearly two decades, Katy stated, “Martin Kirkup was one of my bosses at Direct Management.” “Show me the data, the P&L, the science, the facts!” was his constant demand. He was our group’s leader. If nothing else worked, he would say something cheeky, witty, or eloquent in an English accent, such “That’s ridiculous!” He would be believed by all.
“Martin made me feel safer. He complimented me on being a strong woman and worked hard to get me what I deserved.
I appreciate you being a part of my team for nearly two decades, back before I had a window to fling pee out of or a pot to pee in, as my Memphis-based father would say!
“My team at Direct Management has my utmost pride, respect, and admiration. Martin and all of my managers have literally battled day in and day out for my voice to be heard.”
It was also reported that, prior to his passing, Katy had performed some of her new songs for the British music boss.
Over the course of the last three days, I told him about some of the things I had been working on and how joyful and lovely it was.
He seemed eager for the future, and I was happy to have had one more chance to, in a little way, make him proud.
“We didn’t get to physically say goodbye, but I know he knows how much respect and admiration I have for him, and his hearty chuckles and wicked retorts continue to echo through my mind,” Katy said in her final, sorrowful email.
Martin’s family consists of his wife Lale Kirkup, son John Kirkup, daughter Melisa Kirkup Blatt, and three grandchildren, Sam, Abigail, and Ivy, according to the news site Variety.
QUIT IDOLING
After serving as a judge for six years, Katy announced on Monday that she is quitting American Idol.
At the end of the current season, Fireworks’ singer intends to depart the show to focus on new songs.
Regarding her decision, Katy said to Jimmy Kimmel Live, “I believe this will be my final season on Idol.”
I am a huge fan of Idol. I am connected to the heart of America, but I also need to feel the pulse of my own body.
“I adore the show, but I want to travel and possibly create new music.”
“Well, you know, this fall in September, I’m going to be at Rock in Rio, a big music festival in Brazil.” I think it’s awesome,” she remarked.
“Excited people are everywhere, but my Brazilian fans are especially excited.”
“That implies that all pop star girls are going to have a great time this year.”
“I might return if they take me in the future!”
CURRENT MUSIC
Now that Katy is moving on, her fans anticipate that she will soon release a new album. They have been pleading with the celebrity for a long time to release new music.
In an Instagram picture of herself posing in a seductive black dress with a deep V-neck and large cuts in the middle, Caty made a clue about her future professional goals.
A plethora of silver butterfly pins kept everything assembled. Several of her music videos have featured this emblem.
