At IHOP, Donnie Wahlberg gives a single mother a staggering tip

It should come as no surprise that many people need to labor constantly in order to exist, given the current situation of the globe.

It’s likely that you’ve heard a lot about people who attempt to take advantage of the system; about the few who seem to be able to get by on the charity of others and not work at all.

However, there are hundreds of honorable, good people who struggle to make ends meet for every “freeloader.” Even though some of these people are struggling financially, they yet put in as much work as they can each day to try and make ends meet.

Bethany Provencher is one of these people, according to sources. After serving as a devoted single mother to her 11-year-old son for 18 years in Miami, she relocated to St. Charles, Illinois a few years ago in search of a new beginning.

With her 25 years of customer service experience, Bethany was able to sign a lease for a new apartment in The Magic City and get a job at a local IHOP.

Even yet, she knew that things would be tough for a while because, by all accounts, she had been unable to afford to decorate her new apartment enough.

Then, on a day shortly before the new year, a well-known couple came into the IHOP Bethany worked at and took a seat in her area of the restaurant.

Bethany recognized Donnie Wahlberg—who was with his wife Jenny McCarthy—as the man right away.

It was said that Bethany struggled to contain her excitement. The waitress had always had a special place in her heart for Donnie and the band New Kids on the Block.

That’s why Bethany was excited to be working with him. She had no idea how much of an impact that day would have on her.

Following the conclusion of Donnie and his family’s dinner, the singer paid their $35.27 bill and left a message for Bethany to read on the receipt. It had a hand-drawn happy face next to the words, “Thanks, Bethany, Happy New Year.”

Donnie reportedly pleaded with Bethany to wait to look at the receipt until after he and his spouse had left the IHOP. After following directions, Bethany was taken aback to discover, when she eventually examined the receipt, that Donnie had left her and her coworkers a $2,020 tip.

Whoa! What a lovely gesture—one that, given Bethany’s recent large move to Illinois, I’m sure went a long way!
